Katharine Beeman is a Montreal poet involved in international solidarity and with writers and artists encouraging cultural creation as indispensable to understanding and changing the world. In Our America, a dreamer passing,  her role is to be a visionary, a realist dreaming the impossible. Her work appears in two books, revues and anthologies, participation in various readings and festivals.

Dr. James Cockcroft is a bilingual award-winning author of 40 books and countless articles. He has been described as "an internationally known and distinguished scholar." A poet and life-long human rights activist, he is best known as a Latin Americanist, writer, teacher, and speaker. Graham Ducker is an honours graduate of Laurentian University.  He spent many years as a Principal, Kindergarten Teacher and Primary Methods Specialist, in various Ontario schools. After retiring he published his memoirs in his book Don’t Wake The Teacher! which received a 9/10 rating. Travelling to Cuba with the Canada Cuba Literary Alliance he met with the Canadian Ambassador, did poetry readings at the University of Havana, the Havana Library and the International Book Fair. Stella Ducker is the founder of The Stellar Showcase  and co-founded the Stellar Showcase Journal.  Stella operates and broadcasts on an internet radio and is working on a 'poetry reading corner'. Stella has been 'dabbling' in writing over the years and has some of her poetry published. She is a founding board member of FAMEd and has been involved in film and TV production and background acting. Stella is a member of , The Canada Cuba Literary Alliance, The Writers' Circle of Durham Region, The Oshawa Little Theatre, The Ontario Poetry Society, The Canadian Poetry Association and Chair for Durham Region, The Federation of Poets and a Board Member for the Downtown Action Committee appointed by the Oshawa

Antonio González Varona was born in Cuba in1963. In 1988 he graduated as a Bachelor of Education in English at the José Martí College of Education, where he taught stylistics for three years. Mr.González is at present a translator at the library of the Finlay School of Medicine, City of Camaguey. Author of Molten Quartz Scorpion (a full-length manuscript of poetry), he is currently engaged in translating contemporary Camagueyan poets into English. He has no publishing history. His poem Three-Cornered Stone will appear in August 2006 in Volume 20 of The Caribbean Writer.

Bruno Henríquez was born in Holguín Cuba (1947) lives in Havana. He is a scientist, Geophysicist (1970) with degree on space physics and geomagnetism (USSR 1973), specialized in environmental physics on buildings (Hungary 1987).  He is also a poet, science fiction and popular science writer and conference reader. He has read scientific and literary lectures in Argentina, Canada, Haiti, México, United States, Japan, Germany, Hungary and Russia. Founder and editor of Energia y tu (Energy and you) a popular science magazine on renewable energy and environmental awareness. He also has in Cuban TV a show on science fiction. Is member of WSE (world society of Ekistics) UNEAC (Cuban writers Society). He has had 6 books of Science fiction and popular science published.

Trish Shields was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, but grew up in Europe.  She has studied creative writing at the Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario.  'Soul Speak', a book of poetry published by Troubadour Books, was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award in 2001.  Trish has two books of poetry published and her work has appeared in numerous anthologies.  Her first fictional novel, ‘Inferno’ is published by Baycrest Books.  Trish’s poetry and short stories have been published internationally.  Her first chapbook, Coast Lines, is co-authored by Katherine L. Gordon, released in February 2007.
